I was thinking about a trip my husband and I took to The Biltmore Estate a few years ago. It was our first trip and we had heard that it is a breathtaking destination year-round, but it transforms into an enchanting wonderland during the holiday season. I can confirm this is so true! From the moment you arrive, the twinkling lights, towering Christmas trees, and elaborate and timeless decor transport you to a world of holiday magic.

Weathering the Storm

You have probably heard about the damage and devastation in Western NC due to the recent storms. They have caused some damage to the estate grounds, but Biltmore is open and welcoming visitors. The staff has done an incredible job ensuring the estate remains as beautiful and safe as ever. It's the perfect time to visit and show your support while enjoying the festive ambiance. Here a a few things to know before you go.

A Magical Experience for All Ages

The Biltmore Estate at Christmas is an unforgettable experience, whether you’re visiting as a couple or with children. My husband and I both love Christmas. All the lights, the romantic ambiance and tradition make it a holiday that we look forward to each year. Spending time at Biltmore did not disappoint. Blaine is a woodworker and was fascinated by the elaborate doors, and hand carved mouldings. I love interior design and decorating so between the two of us, we stopped to look at every detail! It was very chilly when we went so we only spent a little time  strolling through the gardens. And even though we didn’t have time, you can stop by the winery and enjoy sipping wine by the fire. It is a dreamy getaway for two.

If you are there as a family, the towering Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and festive decorations create a storybook setting that kids will cherish forever. There were so many smaller doors and little passageways that I am sure will spark the imagination of your children. Or just children at heart. I really wanted to see where they led! Imagine seeing the estate through a child’s eyes—pure magic!

Hours and Dates

The Christmas decorations will be up until January 5, 2025, giving you plenty of time to soak in the holiday cheer. The estate is open daily, with hours typically running from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though extended hours are available for select events like Candlelight Christmas Evenings. Be sure to check the official Biltmore website for exact details and event schedules.

Ticket Pricing

Ticket prices vary depending on the day and type of experience you choose:

- Daytime Admission: Tickets start at $125 for adults when purchased online in advance, with discounts for children. Grounds only tickets for daytime access start at $95 and include a complementary wine tasting.

- Candlelight Christmas Evenings: Prices begin at $145 for adults, offering a magical evening experience with the estate aglow.

Keep in mind that purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended, as this popular event often sells out.

Where to Stay

Extend your Biltmore experience with these nearby accommodations:

2. Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate: A more casual yet equally charming option, perfect for families or couples.
